Support & FAQ
Quick answers about finding and using public Wi‑Fi with SenSignal.
Do I need an account?
No. You can browse, save places, report problems, and use the Safety Center as a guest. Accounts will only add optional sync later.
Is the Wi‑Fi free?
SenSignal lists public Wi‑Fi. Some venues offer it to anyone, some to customers, and some ask you to sign in or ask staff. Each listing shows the access method when it’s known.
What does “Status unknown” mean?
Nobody has confirmed the network recently. It may work fine. Unknown is an honest answer, not a warning.
A sign-in page opened after I joined. Is that normal?
Many venues use a sign-in (captive portal) page. Make sure it belongs to the venue you’re at, and be cautious with personal or payment details. SenSignal never fills these pages in for you.
Why doesn’t SenSignal show the password?
SenSignal only shows passwords a venue has chosen to publish. Please never submit private, residential, or employee-only passwords.
I saw a network called “SenSignal” that the app says is unverified.
Don’t trust it based on the name. Avoid entering personal details, and report it from the app.
Does SenSignal track where I go or what I browse?
No. Location is used only when you ask for nearby results, rounded before it’s sent, and never collected in the background. Browsing history is never collected. Saved places and history stay on your phone.
How do I delete my data?
In the app, go to Profile → Privacy & Security to change history retention or clear all local data. Guest data lives on your device.
When is the app available?
SenSignal is in development and will launch on iPhone and Android together. Download links will appear on the Find Wi‑Fi page.
