Sensignal Observatory

A distributed measurement network for the Internet, routing, DNS, latency, loss, RF, Wi-Fi, timing, GNSS, satellite links, optical link weather, and environmental correlation.

Active strategic research program / Future platform
What problem does it solve?

Nobody sees the physical and logical Internet together: routing, radio, timing, satellites, and the environment are measured separately, if at all.

Who is it for?

Researchers, network operators, and, in the long term, product teams that need network, routing, RF, and timing "weather".

What exists today?
  • The Observatory is an active research program. No measurement network or public data is published yet.
What's being developed?
  • Research into distributed measurement across Internet, routing, Wi-Fi, RF, GNSS/timing, environment, satellite, and optical layers
  • Long-term outputs under consideration: Network, Routing, RF, Timing, and Link Weather; research datasets; APIs; maps; historical atlases
What evidence does it use?

Distributed measurements from Sensignal-operated instruments.

Does it work locally or offline?

Not decided yet.

What permissions does it need?

Not decided yet.

What will it never do without authorization?

Customer data never becomes research or training data by default.

Where does it fit?

Feeds RF Weather and network-weather research, and is the long-term source of Sensignal research datasets.
